Ministry of Commerce（MOFCOM）will launch policy to provide support for industries that encounter with problem in export in proper time, such as textile, said Gao Hucheng, vice minister of MOFCOM in mid July.
Nanfang Daily reported that, Gao told media during the break of a news conference, “Economic changes in global market and upvaluation of RMB, especially changes in demand of some markets, have imposed difficulties against some labor-intensive industries, in the export structure of the first half of this year, including textile and apparel.”
He also said that, along with other departments, MOFCOM is now making research on industries that are faced with export toughness, and will make suggestion in policy base in right time.
On July 14, MOFCOM proposed to State Council a deceleration on RMB’s upvalution. At the same time, it suggested that, in order to prevent export of apparel, toys and shoes from declining in a large scale, tax reimbursement for export should be increased.
According to dispatches from foreign news agencies, official sources reviewed that, State Council required MOFCOM last week to make report on the foreign trade situation for the first half of the year and provide policy suggestion. Export enterprises need more time for adjustment, otherwise, a great number of them have to shut down.
Export data for June that just released might urge new policy to come out. Statistics from General Administration of Customs shows that, June saw a trade surplus of 21.35 billion US dollar, declining by 20.6 percent against the same period of last year. Meanwhile, total export in June recorded 121.53 billion US dollar, growth of which were far less than that of May (28.1 percent).
