The largest retailer in the world, Wal-Mart, along with its Sam’s Club branch will roll out an independent safety requirement, including restriction on lead. The requirement covers all products used by kids, which will be ordered in Fall, 2008. It means that, all kids’ products that entering Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club have to meet another requirement, besides testing in original countries.
Wal-Mart also emphasizes that, US Congress is working out a new law against chemical used in toys, so suppliers have the responsibility to pay attention to all changes on law and regulation and make sure that their products tally with or are stricter than what law, regulation and Wal-Mart demand. |
