Provincial government of Guangdong decided to adjust employees’ lowest salary once again, including non-fulltime employees’ salary, according to the recent notice on adjustment of lowest salary standard of Guangdong’s employees.
New salary standard is divided by 5 levels, namely, ¥860/month, ¥770/month, ¥670/month, ¥580/month and ¥530/month. Applicable regions remain the same.
Guangzhou is classified into the highest level, where lowest monthly pay is raised to ¥860 from previous ¥780. meanwhile, the lowest level--¥530/month, is only applied to some underdeveloped county and county-level cities that situated in standard cities. After the adjustment, Guangdong is the province that see lowest salary standard in the whole country. New standard will be actualized from April 1st this year.
It is known that, there will be a 12.9 percent increase at average, while the rapid increase of 17.8 percent is found in the 5th level. It is the first time for the notice to authorize even higher standard can be applied if concerning region has good condition. However, it is emphasized that the standard can not be lowered. █
