Brazil Plans to Adopt Specific Duty on Imported Toys

If imported commodities found to be in low under quotation, Brazilian federative taxation bureau would substitute specific duty for ad valorem duty, its Deputy director-general said. The calculation of levying patterns of specific duty differs in different cases, which can be realized according to unit weight, volume and amount.

Concerning commodities cover shoes, plastic products, beverage, rubber, textile, apparel, toys, furniture, tools, clocks and watches apparatus, optical instrument, medical lighting facilities.

It is known that, the above measure should be approved by Brazil foreign trade commission before it is brought into effect. █
