Recently, the government of Guangdong province held a provincial meeting on the works of foreign trade. On the basis of assuring 10% increase of this year’s import and export quantum, the province leader Huang Huahua emphasizes that 7 aspects should be considered in the work of foreign trade:

The first is to accelerate the transforming method of foreign trade, improve the quality grade of export products, do well in export work of both independent brand and common trade, go on to strengthen the export-oriented private enterprises and actively widen import. The second is to urge actively the upgrade of processing trade and lead the gradient transfer of processing trade. Thirdly, to develop strongly service trade, project Guangdong’s participation into the grand strategic selection of service globalization and accelerate the development and upgrade of service industry in Guangdong as soon as possible. The fourth is to further improve the quality of the absorbed foreign funds, quicken the transformation from absorbing foreign investment to selecting foreign investment. Fifthly, to implement quickly “going out” strategy, encourage the enterprises to actively develop processing trade abroad, strongly promote cooperation and exploitation of overseas resources and power and improve the standard of overseas contracting projects and working cooperation. The sixth is to make efforts to urge regional cooperation of economy and trade to form a strong power of exploiting international market and participating international competition. Finally, to actively face international trade barriers and friction and further perfect the fair trade mechanism and industrial safety detection system.
