Peru is going to amend its regulation on forbidding importing toxic toys and stationery, announced its ministry of health on October 13th. By this means, restriction on imported toys and stationery will be eased temporarily.

According to new regulation, the ministry allows importers to retrieve products detained by customs after the launching of former regulation on forbidding importing toxic toys and stationery. Meanwhile, importers are allowed to continue their import, wholesales and retailing business within the coming six months.

The ministry stipulates that, toy retailers must bring forth related legal certificates when doing business, so as to testify harmlessness of their products. In addition, the ministry will carry out selective examination against imported toys at any time.
