he largest retailer in the world—Wal-Mart sounds a warming on excessive package on goods during the 3rd session of multi-national corporation purchasing conference in Nanjing, Jiangsu.
The official with the company says, Wal-Mart will launch a plan for economizing package, and establish package standards for various products. Those who fail to meet the standard, especially in excessive package, would be rejected. Wal-Mart’s approach against excessive package is based on lowering logistic cost and environmental protection intent. Take toys sold in Wal-Mart for example, taking off the “coat” of overmuch package, is equivalent to saving 3,800 trees from being felled. For this moment, Wal-Mart has required 66,000 suppliers to remove unnecessary package, including those in China. |
