Higher Grade and Better Quality Toys Exported from Yangzhou
Author: ZANG JIANCHENG, ZHAO YANG, GU WANYU  Post Date: 2007-10-16

For the first half of this year, 5,617 batches of toys are exported from Yangzhou, with totally 87.59 million US dollar. When compared with the same period of last year, amount of application for inspection of export lowers by 3.4 percent, and exporting value has a rise of 8.8 percent. Disqualification rate is decreasing sharply by 78.73 percent against last year.

It can be translated into higher grade of Yangzhou’s product, as well as better quality standard as a whole. It is a good progress for the business.

Due to underemployed workers and outflow of staff, some of toy companies aiming at export fail to fulfill big order, while small order can not make up the cost of operation. Therefore, since the beginning of 2007, they have turned to undertake processing for large companies in circumjacent regions.

Affected by various unfavorable factors, such as rising price in raw materials and upvaluation of RMB, lots of toy makers understand the difficulty. They seek possibility of improving quality management and make adjustment on product mix and order. Some order coming with small quantity, small amount but high consumption of energy would be substituted by large order in lower consumption, large amount and high added value.
